The Culture White Paper

On 23 March 2016, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport published a White Paper on Culture. The document sets out the Government's approach to public support for art and culture. This focuses on increasing opportunities for children and young people, assessing the benefits of culture  for communities across the country and its impact on international standing, and looking at investment, resilliance and reform.

Commitment to World Heritage

In the White Paper on Culture, the Goverment reaffirms its commitment to World Heritage, to working with partners globally to protect it and to setting a global standard in the stewardship of World Heritage Sites. By working with UNESCO's World Heritage Centre, the governing bodies for World Heritage Sites, Historic England and others, the Govermnment seeks to promote sustainable development while ensuring our World Heritage Sites are protected.
